The criteria used to determine retention periods are described in Section 8.
Sale, Sharing, and Sensitive Information
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. We do not use the contents of contact forms, chats, project submissions, or employment applications for third-party targeted advertising. The Site uses the analytics and technology providers described in Section 5, which may process technical and usage information under their own terms and privacy policies. 5. Cookies, Analytics, Chat, and Website Technology
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, a website analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including the _ga cookie, and similar technologies to collect pseudonymous information about page views, sessions, referral sources, approximate location, browser and device characteristics, and Site interactions.
Google states that Google Analytics uses IP addresses at collection time to derive location information and discards them before the information is logged in its analytics systems. Information processed by Google is subject to Google’s policies and settings. More information is available through Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data-collection information.
Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Ahrefs Web Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to review aggregated Site traffic and interaction trends. According to Ahrefs, its standard Web Analytics service does not use cookies or persistent identifiers. It processes information such as page URLs, referrers, browser and device information, operating system, language, approximate city or country, page views, link clicks, and form-submission events.
Ahrefs states that raw IP addresses are used transiently for approximate location and daily visitor counting and are not retained in its Web Analytics database or logs. More information is available through Ahrefs Web Analytics information and the Ahrefs Privacy Policy.
Chat and Forms
The Site uses the SoCal Removal Project Intake assistant, WordPress, Contact Form 7, and related form tools to operate guided project-intake, contact, employment, and Project Review features. If you use these features, the information you enter, including contact details, project information, messages, application information, and uploaded files, may be hosted, stored, transmitted, or otherwise processed through our website, hosting, email, and security providers so the submission can be delivered to us.
The Project Intake assistant may use session storage or local browser storage to preserve a conversation or restore answers. Project Review submissions and attachments are transmitted through the Site’s WordPress form and email systems. The website is not intended to serve as a permanent document archive; users should retain their own copies of submitted documents.
WordPress, SiteGround, Hosting, and Security
The Site is built with WordPress and hosted through SiteGround. Hosting, caching, security, backup, spam-prevention, and bot-protection systems may process IP addresses, browser or device information, request logs, cookie or session information, and diagnostic data necessary to deliver, maintain, and protect the Site.
Security Cookies, Logs, and Scanning
We use Solid Security and related WordPress security tools to help protect the Site and its administrative accounts. These tools may set strictly necessary temporary cookies during login or authentication processes, including a cookie named itsec_interstitial_browser. These cookies support login security, authentication, and fraud prevention and are not used for advertising.
When security-related events occur, these tools may record an IP address, the user ID of a logged-in user, a username used in a login attempt, requested URLs, login or logout activity, content changes, password changes, and related technical information. The information is used to identify malicious activity, investigate security events, and protect the Site. Under the Site’s current configuration, these security logs are generally retained for 60 days, subject to longer retention when reasonably necessary for an investigation, legal obligation, claim, or security incident.
The Site may also be scanned for malware and vulnerabilities using security site-scanning services, including Kadence Site Scanner. A scanner may process publicly available Site content and technical information while checking the Site, but we do not intentionally send the contents of private contact, quote, chat, or employment submissions to the scanner.
Image Optimization
We use Smush, provided by WPMU DEV, to optimize images uploaded to WordPress. Images sent for optimization may contain EXIF or other embedded metadata. Depending on the applicable settings, that metadata may be removed or returned with the optimized image. Smush does not provide a general visitor-input feature and is not used to collect information entered into our contact, quote, chat, or employment forms.
Your Browser Choices
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies, JavaScript, or similar technologies may affect certain Site functions. Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookie-free under its standard configuration, so deleting browser cookies does not by itself prevent its analytics script from operating.
6. Sources of Information
We collect information directly from you; from your browser or device when you use the Site; from a property owner, tenant, general contractor, consultant, representative, or other project participant who contacts us or provides project information; and from service providers that support our Site, communications, analytics, security, recruiting, or business operations.
7. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary:
- Website hosting, security, backup, analytics, chat, form-processing, email, cloud-storage, information-technology, and communications providers.
- Our employees, estimators, project managers, and other authorized personnel who need the information to respond to or administer an inquiry.
- Subcontractors, independent consultants or testing professionals, disposal or recycling facilities, transporters, suppliers, and other project participants when needed to evaluate, price, arrange, or perform requested work.
- Service providers or advisers assisting with recruiting and employment applications.
- Accountants, insurers, bonding companies, attorneys, and other professional advisers.
- Government agencies, regulators, law enforcement, courts, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property, licensing, compliance, or legal claims.
- A successor, buyer, or adviser involved in a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, or transfer of all or part of our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
- Other parties at your direction or with your permission.
Third-party providers may process information under their own terms, privacy policies, and service arrangements.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Retention periods depend on the nature of the information, the reason it was collected, the sensitivity of the information, and whether an inquiry becomes a bid, contract, project, employment matter, dispute, claim, or legal or regulatory record.
An inquiry that does not result in a project may be retained while we follow up, evaluate the opportunity, maintain ordinary business records, and protect against fraud or disputes. If an inquiry results in a bid, contract, or project, related information may be retained longer to satisfy estimating, licensing, accounting, insurance, bonding, safety, environmental, warranty, regulatory, contract, and claim requirements.
Employment application information may be retained for recruiting, recordkeeping, legal-compliance, and claim-management purposes. Information may remain for an additional period in backups consistent with applicable backup cycles or where retention is required or permitted by law. Analytics information is retained according to our settings and the applicable provider’s practices.
Security logs described in Section 5 are generally retained for 60 days under the Site’s current configuration, subject to longer retention when reasonably necessary for an investigation, legal obligation, claim, or security incident.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures may include access controls, secure website connections, security monitoring, backups, and limiting access to personnel and providers who need the information.
No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Use care when deciding what information to send electronically.
10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that you submitted through the Site. We may need to verify your identity and request before acting. We may retain or decline to delete information when permitted or required for contracts, transactions, legal obligations, security, safety, fraud prevention, claims, or other lawful purposes.
Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to us or to the information at issue, you may have additional rights to:
- Know or access the categories or specific pieces of personal information collected about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of certain personal information.
- Obtain a portable copy of certain information.
- Opt out of a sale or sharing of personal information, if such a practice occurs.
- Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information, if applicable.
- Receive information about categories of sources, purposes, and recipients.
- Receive equal service and not be discriminated against for exercising a legally protected privacy right.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the information in Section 16. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and verification of the individual’s identity. We will respond as required by applicable law.
11. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no uniform industry standard governing general Do Not Track signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. Third-party analytics and technology providers may collect Site-interaction information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Global Privacy Control and similar legally recognized universal opt-out preference signals are intended to communicate a request to opt out of a sale or sharing of personal information. If applicable law requires us to recognize an opt-out preference signal for a data practice we engage in, we will process that signal as required by law.
12. Third-Party Collection and Websites
Google, Ahrefs, SiteGround, and other providers described in this Privacy Policy may collect or process information directly through their scripts, cookies, forms, hosting systems, or other technology on the Site. Their handling of information is also governed by their applicable privacy policies and service terms.
The Site may link to websites, social-media platforms, government resources, or services operated by other parties. We do not control their privacy or security practices. Review the privacy policy of the applicable third party before providing information to it.
13. Employment Applicants
If you request, download, submit, or send an employment application or résumé, we may use the information to evaluate your qualifications, communicate with you, verify information where permitted, maintain recruiting records, comply with legal obligations, and establish or defend employment-related rights or claims.
Please do not submit medical information, Social Security numbers, identity documents, or financial-account information through a general Site form or chat. If such information is needed at a later stage, we will provide an appropriate method and any additional notice required by law.
14. Children’s Privacy
The Site is intended for a general business audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the Site, contact us so we can review and address it.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our Site, services, vendors, data practices, or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top identifies the latest revision. If required by law, we will provide additional notice of a material change.
