SoCal Removal opened a connection between two second-floor offices at the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center. The assignment adapted the existing office layout through a focused interior opening and finish sequence.

About the transportation center

Built in 1985, the Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center is an established Orange County transit facility. OCTA’s station information identifies the center’s rail and passenger amenities, including an Amtrak office and indoor waiting area. OCTA Santa Ana Station fact sheet.

The property combines transportation functions with interior building spaces. SoCal Removal’s work concerned the connection between two offices on the second level.

Adapting the office layout

The project photographs follow the wall-opening work from the existing condition to the framed connection and completed finish. They show how a limited construction area can change the relationship between adjoining rooms.

Before similar work begins, the wall construction and any concealed services need to be reviewed against the proposed opening. The plans should establish what can be removed and how the opening will be completed.

Focused work within a larger facility

An office improvement inside a transportation property requires attention to the building’s access rules, work area and debris route. Defining those arrangements helps the construction team work with the facility representative.

SoCal Removal can review selective demolition and renovation for Orange County offices and institutional properties. Provide the layout, existing-condition photographs and relevant drawings so the opening, trade planning and finish scope can be developed together.
