Contractor Scope
Defined work and planning
Modular-structure demolition with related concrete, ramps, fencing, backfill, and rough grading near active child-use areas.
- Removal of modular classroom components and related structural debris.
- Removal of reinforced concrete and rebar, steel entry ramps and platforms, commercial chain-link fencing, and a large prefabricated metal storage container.
- Debris handling and off-site hauling within the contractor scope.
- Import of two truckloads of Caltrans Class 2 base aggregate, spread and compacted for rough grading and future site improvements.
Campus Planning
Planning accounted for site access, campus operations, and nearby child-use areas. Perimeter and access controls appropriate for the campus setting were incorporated into the contractor work plan. The crew used a Caterpillar 242D skid steer and a backhoe with thumb and hydraulic-breaker attachments to dismantle and process the structural elements; the imported base was spread and compacted for rough grading and future site improvements.
