SoCal Removal’s Mission Viejo Country Club assignment involved selective removal of a concrete dam beneath and around an existing cart bridge. The steel bridge remained a key feature of the site while the designated concrete was addressed below it.

About Mission Viejo Country Club

The club opened its Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed course in April 1967. Its 18-hole course forms part of Mission Viejo’s development history and remains a distinctive recreational setting in south Orange County. Mission Viejo Country Club history.

Working within that setting meant the demolition area had to be understood in relation to the bridge, waterway and surrounding grounds.

Access beneath a retained bridge

The written scope called for a backhoe-mounted breaker where equipment could reach the concrete, with smaller tools for areas beyond that reach. It also addressed separating concrete and metal components and moving material to a designated location on the property.

Those details illustrate why this was a selective concrete-removal assignment. Reach, clearance and the features intended to remain shaped the work approach.

Planning material handling around the site

The photographs show concrete breaking and equipment positioned near the retained steel bridge. The project plan also identified protective measures around the adjacent waterway area.

For similar work, the owner’s drawings and applicable site requirements should establish the removal limits and protection criteria before the contractor finalizes means and methods.

SoCal Removal can review concrete removal at commercial and recreational properties in Mission Viejo and Orange County. Share the plans, access photographs and desired final condition so the scope can be developed around the actual site constraints.
